Happy Black History Month!
Anywho, before I post my first person I need to get a few things of my chest. I think that the institution of Black History Month, Hispanic History Month, Native American History Month, Women's History Month, etc. are great ideas. It's a specified time to think about these groups who have been traditionally marginalized in our country. But I must say that there is a fundamental problem with the fact that these histories are not considered a part of American history as a whole. Without the experiences and melding of all of these groups this country would be in the shitter! Wait, it is in the shitter. Anyway my point is...actually I'm not sure what my point is. I get confused easily.

Moving right along, not only was Nessa was the first black Miss America. (Sure they took back her crown when those nudie pics surufaced. Bet hey, that didn't take away from her accomplishment. If anything, it made her more interesting.) She's also gone on to become a chart toping music artist, TV and film actress, been featured as a spokesperson for various products, received Billboard Music Awards, Grammys, and NAACP Image Awards (among others).
