Transgender Model Gets Free Sex Change...Thanks to Tyra Banks

Isis King, the first ever transgender contestant on Tyra Banks’ “America’s Next Top Model” will be appearing on her talk show today. Isis, born Darrell Walls, will be surprised on today’s show with free gender reassignment surgery. Tyra introduces Isis to Dr. Marci Bowers, who not only had the surgery herself years ago but who’s also paying for Isis’s reassignment.
"[I feel] like I'm about to wake up," says King - who lived in a homeless shelter in Maryland before trying out for the show.
"It's hard. I try not to think about it because it is something I'm really passionate about," she says. "I feel like I really was born in the wrong body, and it's just the one thing that makes me feel uncomfortable."
Isis will be showing pictures of herself as a man for the first time on this show.
"I look at it like yes, I'm the first transgender contestant, but okay, lets move past it now," King explains. "I'm just a woman trying to compete just like everyone else."
Good for you Isis! I know what its like to feel like your trapped in the wrong body. I personally am a 5’11” Svelte Ethiopian model trapped in the body of a 5’6” portly black systems analyst body. It’s a crime really.
