Mychal Bell Discusses Suicide Attempt

Mychal Bell admits that the accidental shooting a little while ago was a suicide attempt. He says that he felt pressure to be perfect after the Jena 6 case was over.
In an interview with CNN, Bell said:
“It just got to the point where I just couldn’t take it anymore. I just wanted to show everybody that I really wasn’t the type of kid that everybody was making me out to be. Nobody will ever be perfect, but it’s like that’s where my mind was. You need to be perfect.”
He added that people were waiting for him to fail, “‘Just mess up, just mess up.’ There was a lot of pressure on me.’” Source
Damn, that’s deep. I can say for myself when I was seeing some of the Jena 6 going in the wrong direction I neglected to think about them being imperfect humans before this…there’s no doubt that they continued to be imperfect after.
