Ne-Yo is Switchin' Teams

Ne-Yo is trying to change it up a bit and try out different types of music.

“R&B star Ne-Yo is promising fans new sounds on his upcoming album Year Of The Gentleman - because he has become “bored” of urban music. The “So Sick” singer - real name Shaffer Smith - is preparing to drop his third album in June. because he is no longer interested in urban music.

He says, ‘There’s some stuff on there that sounds like something the Beatles might’ve done. There’s some stuff on there that sounds like something Billy Joel might’ve done. I can’t do just straight urban music no more, because to be completely honest with you, I’m a little bored with it. I’m just moving with what music excites me now.’

I can’t cosign this til I hear it. But it is refreshing to see people try new things. Just cus you’re black doesn’t mean you HAVE to do R&B and hip-hop. I think I’ll be cool with it as long as it isn’t anything like this:


P.S.-Please note that the dude who refers to himself as 'Snow' is none other than Corey Clark (the yella boy from American Idol who said Auntie Paula touched him ‘down there’). Also note that before Ne-Yo called himself Ne-Yo, he called himself Go-Go…both nicknames I could see a twink using. Oh, and the orange Sisquo-esque hair...yea I'm dead too. I’m just sayin’...
