Political Poop '08: One Day and Counting
Since I’m posting the day before the elections I want all of you to listen up to a few last tips to hopefully make your voting a wee bit easier.
Are you registered to vote?
Check out CanIVote.org to confirm that you are registered and find your polling location.
When can you vote?
People are expected to turn out in droves at the polls this years so be prepared for that. Make sure you iPod is charged, you’ve got a book to read, and that you’re orthopedics are strapped on tight. To find out polling times go to GoVote.org where you can not only find times but also what you need to bring with you.
No Political Paraphernalia!
As I’ve been saying for weeks now, if you are at the polls wearing political attire of any sort you my be turned away in some states. Don’t risk it!
Don’t have a license?
If you don’t have a license for the state in which you’re registered for make sure to bring bills or letters to prove that you have residence in that state.
Disabled/Limitations?
If you are physically disabled or required translation assistance this SHOULD be provided at the polling place.
Problems while voting?
If you have any problems voting, do not leave your polling place. Instead, call 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683) to get advice. Legal experts will be on hand to help you determine your voting rights.
If you don’t have a legal question but want to report a problem you had, call 866-MYVOTE1 (866-698-6831) and leave a detailed message with your name, phone number and the reason for your call so someone can investigate your problem.
