Updates 11-12: Jennifer Hudson’s Mother and Brother Shot to Death
In just this short tragic week Jennifer has been able to put together a foundation for families of murder victims. The Hudson-King Foundation for Families of Slain Victims is named inhonor of her slain mother darnell Hudson donerson, Brother Jason Hudson, and nephew Julian King.
“The specific purpose of the Foundation is to care for the needs of families who have lost relatives to a violent crime,” the family says in a statement. “This encompasses their basic needs of food, clothing and shelter as well as grief counseling.”
Donations to the Hudson-King Foundation can be sent:

A public service for all members of thehudson-King families as well as the Chicago community mourning those slain will have the opportunity to attend a public memorial on Sunday (November 2, 2008). Originally there was to only be a private serves on Monday (November 3, 2008) at the Apostolic Church of God in Chicago. Source
There’s something special about the Hudson-King family to allow outsiders to come and have a part in the memorial of their dead loved ones. Mourning is such a private event. I wouldn’t blame them if they just wanted to have this time to themselves.
