New Developments in Donda West Case

Over a year after her death from complications following plastic surgery, Donda West’s case is being opened up for investigation. Her nephew, Stephan Scoggins is being investigated for his possible role in her death. He’s a registered nurse and was taking care of her along with her assistant and one of her friends on the night she died. Stephan left the house and when Donda couldn’t reach him her friend called 911. The California Dept. of Consumer affairs is looking into Scoggin’s professional conduct and wonders if he gave her too much Vicodin in too short of a period of time. Source
This sad story just won’t go away. Regardless of who’s to blame it won’t bring her back. I understand closure is needed but isn’t it time she rests in peace?

Kanye's Mom Listened to His Song Right Before She Died

Kanye West may have found a bit of comfort after finding out that shortly before her death, his mother heard his song “Hey Mama”.
Jean Roberson, Donda’s mother rushed to her bedside when she failed to regain consciousness after 8 hours of surgery, and played the song to wake her. Roberson says, “I put the phone to her ear and said, ‘Donda, listen… “Wake up, listen. Kanye’s singing to you.’” The patient eventually did come round and was wheeled out of surgery in “an executive chair”. Donda West died the following evening. Source
Though this won’t bring her back, I’m sure it makes Kanye feel good that even though he wasn’t physically with her that in some way he was there in her last hours.

Kanye Didn't Want His Mother To Have Surgery?

Kanye’s Aunt Yolanda told a British tabloid, "There were some moments when she [Dr. West] dieted, some moments when she'd lose the weight, but you know how we do, we pick that weight back up and she finally got to a point where she just wanted to get it done and completely be done with the dieting. It was a quick fix for her to where the dieting just wasn't working. Did Kanye want it done? No. But he's a mama's boy and what mom wanted was what he wanted to make sure she had. And now he's got no mom."
So what exactly is she trying to say? That it was his fault somehow? I mean really! Why are you even talking Aunt Yolanda?! SMH.

Donda West Bill Passed

The California Senate passed a bill Wednesday (August 13, 2008) making it mandatory for patients seaking plastic surgery to first have a physical exam. This bill was developed in reponse to the death of Kanye Wests’s mother Donda West, who passed away from a heart condition following plastic surgery.
Donda’s niece, Yolanda Anderson, who’s a California State Assemblywoman worked with Wilmer Amina Carter (D-Rialto) to introduce the bill AB 2968 into legislature.
Sen. Mark Ridley-Thomas (D-Los Angeles) told the Times, "Many of us are concerned about the quality of care extended to those who receive elective surgery," the senator told the Times. Source
I think this is a wonderful bill and it should be passed across the country. But California is a great start since many of the country’s cosmetic surgeries occur there. Now let’s tackle New York and Florida and we’re in business.

Doctor Death Speaks Out

Dr. Jan Adams, the doctor who performed surgery on Donde West days before her death issued a statement. He said,

“I believe very strongly in the fundamental American principle of the right of the individual to defend himself. Recently, inaccurate and, frankly, false statements have circulated that require clarification. Unfortunately, it has become impossible to separate these statements from other professional issues.I will await my turn.”
Hmm, well lets see. Looks like you don’t know what you’re doing cus of the 9 or so malpractice suits you have…oh yea and you killed someone. You don’t need to explain yourself. You’re a murderer…we get it.
