Extortion Plot Against Travolta Foiled

Three men have been arrested in connection with an extortion scheme targeted at actor John Travolta following the death of his 16-year-old son, Jett.
Pleasant Bridgewater, a Bahemian lawyer, Obie Wilchcombe, the former Minister of Tourism for the Bahamas, and Tarino Lightbourne, an ambulance driver, were all held for questioning on Thursday. Police are not revealing the details of the plot.

That’s absolutely horrible. These people have just lost one of their children and have to deal with this as well. Disgusting.

Update on the Death of Jett Travolta

John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston have issued a statement regarding the death of their son.
“We would like to extend our deepest and most heartfelt thanks to everyone who has sent their love and condolences. Jett was the most wonderful son that two parents could ever ask for and lit up the lives of everyone he encountered. We are heartbroken that our time with him was so brief. We will cherish the time we had with him for the rest of our lives. We have received many messages of condolence from around the world and we want to thank everyone for their prayers and support. It has meant so much to us. It is a beautiful reminder of the inherent goodness in the human spirit that gives us a hope for a brighter future.”

They’ve also flown his ashes home and plan to have a memorial service for him on Thursday. Since no foul play was found by the autopsy his body was turned over to his family and they had Jett cremated and flown back to florida in the private jet that John owns.
Many of their celebrity friends like Kirstie Alley, Tom Cruise and Will Smith have already sent condolences and are expected at the service. Source

Teen Son of John Travolta Passes Away

John Travolta and Kelly Preston’s 16-year old son passed away on Friday (January 2, 2008) in the Bahamas.
“At this point, we know that John Travolta and Kelly Preston’s only son, Jett, had a seizure at around 10 a.m. this morning,” attorney Michael Ossi said. “All attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.”

So horribly sad! Thoughts and prayers go out to John and Kelly and the rest of the family.
