Political Poop '08

Barack Obama mentioned on Sunday’s (July 27, 2008) Meet the Press about what he’s looking for in a running mate.
“I’m not interested in a vice president who I send off to go to funerals. I want somebody who is going to roll up their sleeves and be willing to work. I’m going to want somebody with integrity. I’m going to want somebody with independence, who’s willing to tell me where he thinks or she thinks I’m wrong, and I’m — I’m going to want somebody who shares a vision of the country where we need to go, that we’ve got to fundamentally change not only our policies, but how our politics works, how business is done in Washington,” he said. I’d be satisfied with someone who knows how to spell 'potato'.

More Obama Polooza…
Barack Obama is angered over a few lyrics in one of Ludacris’s new songs. Ludacris who is an Obama supporter, has a track on his latest mix tape entitled “Politics As Usual” in the song he says that "bitch is irrelevant," referring to Hillary, says Bush is "mentally handicapped," and later says McCain doesn't belong in "any chair unless he's paralyzed." Obama called the lyrics called "outrageously offensive."
"As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn't want his daughters or any children exposed to," campaign spokesman Bill Burton said in a statement. "This song is not only outrageously offensive to Sen. Clinton, Rev. Jackson, Sen. McCain and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with the values we hold dear. While Ludacris is a talented individual he should be ashamed of these lyrics." Source
Just because Luda supports him doesn’t mean he has to support Luda or cosign everything he says and does. But and still Obama should be careful just how he voices his disdain so that he doesn’t alienate his hip-hop loving supporters.
