Bey Thanks Mama for Slapping Her

Bey is thankful that her mother put her in her place by smacking her in the kisser in public. She says, "She was asking me something and I started singing while she was talking to me. And there were some really cute guys in the store who were noticing me, and I was like, 'Oh yeah! I'm hot!' And my mom said, 'I'm talking to you'. And I kept singing. And so she smacked me - slapped me in my face, so hard."And my dad said, 'What are you doing?' Because I didn't get spankings growing up. They didn't believe in that. My mom says, 'She thinks she's hot stuff 'cos her single is out. Nobody cares about that! You are still my child. I brought you into this world, I can take you out of it! Now go sit in the car'. But it was the best thing she could have ever done to me because for the first time I realised I was losing sight of what was important."

Shoot I know that’s right. Those of us who have ever been popped in the mouth by mom dukes will remember it for the rest of our lives. I made the mistake of telling my mom to shut up once. I guess I was 13 or 14 and thinking I was grown. Well before I could even get the whole phrase out of my mouth WHAP! My lips tingle and burn just thinking about it…I think I taste blood. Anyway, no one was even around to see it. We were in the car. But I was still embarrassed. Needless to say I NEVER told her to shut up again. As prim and proper as Patty Boo can be she never forgets she’s from Newark and will punch a heifer in the jaw without batting an eye.
Damn…my lips really sting. Smack your kids people…you could be saving their lives.
