Jackie Chan to Play Miyagi in Remake?

Rumor has it that Jackie Chan will be playing the role of Mr. Miyagi in the Karate Kid remake. According to MSNBC:
The action hero is in negotiations to star in Columbia’s remake of “The Karate Kid.” He would take on the role of mentor Mr. Miyagi, made famous by Pat Morita in the original franchise. Source
I have nothing against Jackie Chan, but really this nonsense has to stop.
