Updates 2-8: Chris Brown Arrested

Update 2: If Chris is officially charged for making criminal threats he can go to jail for 9 years. If the charge is reduced to domestic abuse the most he could get is 4 yearrs. Gennerally the police will book a suspect for the most serious charge they can and then let the prosecutor deciced to drop, reduce or add on any other charges.

Update 3:
Wrigleys has dropped Chris Brown as one of their sponsors. They initially pulled the copy of his commercials (even though I saw the CB commercial several times last night) and they have now officially dropped him.
According to Extra, "Wrigley is concerned by the serious allegations made against Chris Brown. We believe Mr. Brown should be afforded the same due process as any citizen
"However, we have made the decision to suspend the current advertising featuring Brown and any related marketing communications until the matter is resolved.” Source
Well we saw that coming. I was watching the Grammys and saw his commercial and felt weird inside.

Update 4:
Rihanna has pulled out of her Malaysian concert this week. She was finally given the green light to perform there after conservative muslim groups thought her show and wardrobe was too racy. But now she’s postponing the performance and is cooperating with police in the assault case against her boyfriend. Source
Well there’s no way she can go on stage all lumped up. Besides there’s business to be taken care of immediately. The malaysians can wait.

Update 5:
HipHollywood is reporting that Chris has skipped town and headed East, He was released on Sunday and yesterday hopped on a plane. His exact destination is unknown.

Update 6:
Rihanna’s injuries are being described as “devastating and “horrific. Here’s what TMZ says:
As we reported, the photos show major contusions on both sides of the singer’s face — there is serious swelling and bruising. Her lip is split and her nose bloody. We have now confirmed there are bite marks on one of her arms and on several fingers.
And we now know this… Rihanna claims Brown struck her with his fists and that’s what did the damage. There was no object used in the alleged attack.

What the heck happened to make him go ape shit crazy like that?!...Er, allegedly. I heard a rumor that he was angry at her for giving him herpes but as of right now there’s no word on exactly what they were fighting about in that car. Don’t let the dimples fool you ladies. He’s a monster…er, allegedly.

Update 7:
Chris Brown did an interview with Giant Magazine where he revealed that he watched his stepfather beat his mother.
Here’s an excerpt:
Like the day an 11-year-old Brown made a promise to his mother. He vowed that he would go to jail by age 15 for killing his abusive stepfather. “I just want you to know that I love you,” he told her. “But I’m gonna take a baseball bat one day while you at work, and I’m gonna kill him.” Brown’s parents had separated when he was seven. When his mother remarried, she moved her son and his new stepfather to a trailer park. Then his stepfather shot himself in the head. The shot went straight through the eyes. He survived the suicide attempt but was permanently blinded.
“When you’re blind, your senses are heightened, like your smell, hearing, your sense of touch,” Brown explains. “You can move and maneuver around your sight. But he used to hit my mom….He made me terrified all the time, terrified like I had to pee on myself. I remember one night he made her nose bleed. I was crying and thinking, ‘I’m just gonna go crazy on him one day…’ I hate him to this day.” Source
It’s a known reailty that many children who are victims of abuse go on to repeat the behavior. Seems like Chris has been angry for a long time and never got his outlet…until now.

Update 8:
Kanye West who’s friends with both Chris Brown and Rihanna is devastated over what happened. He’s closer to Rih because they toured together and talked to Ryan Seacrest on the radio about what a gem he thinks she is.
“I really felt and feel that Rihanna is so important to our culture and pop music.” He adds, “for her taste level at her age, her song level, her style she has the potential to be the greatest artist of all time.”
As far as Chris Brown assaulting Rihanna he said, “In that sense I feel like that’s my baby sis and I would do anything to help her….I was completely devastated by the concept that I heard.” Kanye said he found out just before performing “American Boy” with Estelle at the Grammys. “I was doing American boy, I was completely devastated doing the performance.” When Ryan asked if Kanye reached out to Rihanna the singer said, “I don’t want to speak more into specifics, with that situation but all I am going to say is that it’s just so devastating …I feel like just as a person...That should never happen, it should never come to that place.” Source
