Jay-Z's Gettin' His Money Right
He told Time Out magazine: "I had invested in the Nets, and they (Arsenal bosses) asked me if I was interested in investing. But I get that from time to time. Someone told me yesterday that someone else had a piece of the New York Yankees - 'We wanna talk to you, yadda yadda yadda.' I mean, I love the Yankees so I'm in the middle of following that through, but sometimes it comes to be nothing. That (Arsenal) was one of the times it came to nothing." Source
(In other Jay-Z news…)
A Manhattan judge has given the OK for a class action lawsuit to be filed against Jay-Z and the 40/40 nightclub for violating labor laws. The suit is being pursued by Celeste Williams who used to work at the club as a waitress. She claims that 40/40 paid less than minimum wage and didn’t pay overtime.
"This is a good day for restaurant workers all over the city," said her lawyer, Maimon Kirschenbaum, to the Post. Kirshenbaum is looking to gain access to the club’s financial records as well as a complete list of all of it’s employees. They want to contact said employees and convince them to join the suit. Jay said “Money Ain’t a Thang”. I wonder if he’ll feel that way once this case hits the courtroom.
