Delays in Chris Brown Sentencing

Chris Brown’s sentencing has been postponed because the state of Virginia has not gotten back to the judge about the availability of ‘labor intensive’ community service. He was expected to be sentenced to six months of this type of service in his home state of VA which is why the judge needs to wait on word from the state. Source
I thought you had to serve your time in the state that the crime was committed. But whatevs. Can’t they just get this over with already?

Common is being sued for copyright infringement over his song ‘Take It EZ’, after failing to get permission to sample ‘When Will the Day Come.’ Andrew Marks and London McDaniels, the songwriters of the original song are asking for unspecified damages.
Common admits to using the song as his inspiration - in the online download of Take It EZ, the song details state, "Contains samples from When Will The Day Come." Source
Tsk, tsk, tsk Common. I know sampling fees are pretty redic, but if you get caught for swiping music, you end up paying A LOT more in the long run.

I wonder if he knew about this issue before or after signing on the dotted line. Because he coulda saved himself a lot of grief.

Jackob the Jeweler Forfeits $2 Mil in Illegal Funds

Jeweler to the stars, Jacob ‘The Jeweler’ Arabov, forfeited $2 million in illegal money as part of his plea deals so that he could get a lesser sentence for laundering money.
Jacob got a 2 ½ year sentence last June for giving false statements and falsifying records in connection with a drug ring. He supposedly helped launder $270 millin in drug money.
Of the forfeited money $267,200 was given to police in Detroit, Birmingham, Grosse Ile, Livonia, and the Livingston County Sheriff's Department, while River Rouge received $196,800, and Waterford Township's share is $67,200. The federal government kept the remaining balance. Source
You would think he was making enough money keeping rappers dripping in bling to not even involve himself in this nonsense.

Update 77: Chris Brown Arrested

When Chris Brown and Rihanna finally faced off in open court there weren’t the fireworks we were all looking for. To avoid jail time Chris plead guilty to felony assault in a plea deal where he’ll be serving five years probation and 1,400 hours of "labor-oriented service." In addition he’ll have to go through a year-long domestic-violence counseling class and check in with his probation officer every three months.
Though Rih-Rih was there to testify she didn’t have to because of his plea…so neither of them have spoken out publicly about what ‘really’ happened.
When Chris left the courtroom Judge Patricia Schnegg talked to Rihanna about the issuance of a "stay away" order, requiring Brown to stay 100 yards from her.
And through her attorney, Donald Etra, she said that wouldn’t need t to be issued. However, the judge said she was putting the order in anyway and reving it to 50 yards, 10 if they happened to be at the same "industry event" together. Source
And so it goes…
I’m sure there will be more to this story but for now I’m retiring the updates. 77 Updates and almost 5 months later it’s finally over. Thank God.

Morgan Counter Sues Lady Friend in Car Crash Case

Remember a few months back when Morgan Freeman and his lady friend ended up with their car flipped in a ditch? Well, Demaris Meyer, the lady friend flied a lawsuit against Morgan citing pain and suffering, loss of wages, permanent disability, etc. She said he was drinking but no DUI charges were ever filed. Morgan subsequently filed a counter suit. He admits to driving her car and that it left the road and "sustained significant damages" but that his filing "shows (Meyer) is comparatively negligent." He doesn’t explain what he means by that.
Hmm, let’s analyze this for a minute. Morgan is driving along the road when something that Demaris is doing causes him to veer off said road and into a ditch. Now what could she have been doing? Think. Think. Think. Nope, nothings coming to me. Any ideas?
**Snicker, Snicker**

50 Suing House Inspectors

50 Cent is suing home inspectors because when he bought Mike Tyson’s former mansion in ’03 for $5million he was told the home only needed $500K in repairs. Turns out the costs are closer to $6 million. He wants the inspectors to pay him $3million because he wouldn’t have bought the house if he knew how much it would really cost to fix. He’s been trying to sell the house without any luck since ’07.
Too bad, so sad. I wonder how many inspections he had performed on the home before singing on the dotted line.

Next Member is a Stalker

Raphael “Tweety” Brown, of the defunct group Next, is being sued by his ex, Nikki Giavasis (former NFL cheerleader/model/singer) for stalking. She got a restraining order against him and last week he was nabbed trying to enter the gate of her community. She says they broke up a year ago but he’s harassed her the whole time and even broke into her house and stole her $700 shoes and a $1000 handbag.
She also alleges that she invested $300 in his group and when he paid her back he wrote in the memo “From God”…the check bounced. Source
The items he supposedly stole say two things. Either he’s into womens’ accessories, or he’s on that crack rock ‘and in need of a fix.
On another note, I can tolerate a lot but if anyone were to even THINK about stealing or harming ANY of my bags they would be swimming with the fishes...come test.

Singer Michel’le, Dr. Dre’s baby mama, and ex-wife of Suge Knight, is suing Suge for back child and spousal support. She hasn’t received a payment in three months and is looking for the $40K he owes her. Source
Maybe instead of partying it up with Diddy in Vegas (I know, weird). He should be taking care of his responsibilities. Hey, I’ve got an idea! Michele’le should threaten to talk to him until he pays her. Have you heard this woman’s voice…it’s the most amazing/irritating thing EVER.
If you don’t know who she is, peep her work here.

MJ's Tour Might Not Happen

MJ has been working hard for his comeback/farewell tour in London this summer, but there may be a snag in his plans. A NJ based promoter, AllGood Entertainment Inc. claims they have a signed contract that will prevent him from performing until july 2010.

According to the agreement he cant give a concert until the Jackson Family reunion show that AllGood has put together.

They’ve sent out a cease and desist order to MJ’s lawyer Frank DiLeo to stop his 50 shows in London this summer.

AEG, the promoters of the London shows, contend that AllGood’s claims are meaningless and will go on with their preparation as planned.

"As of right now, we've gotten zero cooperation from anyone, Frank DiLeo refuses to honor our agreement and that's why we're filing a lawsuit by week's end," Patrick Allocco, a partner at AllGood said. Source

MJ’s London shows would definitely overshadow the Reunion show so I hope his lawyers can do some fancy footwork cus a lot of money is tied up in this comeback.

Tyrese Sues Twitter Stalker

Tyrese is suing a woman who’s been harassing him on Twitter.

He claims she has been bombarding him with messages, including the threat: "Now that your wife is finally out of the picture Daddy, it's my turn."

He told TMZ.com, "Honestly, when you make yourself available and people really feel like they're getting to know you, people just kind of catch feelings and things happen. I think she's really Looney Tune. I've tried everything I can to get her up off me. And now things have gotten legal so I'm just going to let my people do their part. She's every bit of crazy and Looney Tunes." Source

I concur…that’s definitely crazy. But will suing her keep her crazy ass away?

Brit Not Fit to Testify

Brit was to testify in an ongoing case to get permanent restraining orders against Sam Lutfi, Adnan Ghalib, and Jon Eardley. A judge granted a three year order against Adnan but the other two are still contesting it and Eardley, her former lawyer demanded she testify but his request was denied by judge Akiya Bobb who contends that Spears isn’t mentally fit to make her own legal decisions.

The judge told the court, "There was a finding of a judge of the Superior Court that she lacks the capacity to testify."
Temporary restraining orders against the men were extended until April 28 (09), when the judge will hear rebuttal arguments before making a final decision. Source

Is she really still that unstable? I don’t see why she shouldn’t be ok to testify. But hey, what do I know?

Brit to Appear in Court to Fight to End Conservatorship

Britney has hired lawyer Jon Eardley to represent her in her conservatorship case. However her dad is the only one who can employ a lawyer so he’s taken out a restraining order against him saying that he’s trying to sabotage all his good work.

Jon feels that Brit should be considered mentally sound enough to testify in Superior court.

The papers, obtained by E! Online, state, "If Britney Spears is well enough to put on two concerts in Los Angeles, she is certainly well enough to attend a trial where attorneys on her behalf have falsely accused Jon Eardley of harassment."

The purpose of the case is to decide whether Jamie should continue as Brit’s conservator as well as if the restraining orders against Sam Lutfi and Adnan Ghalib should conclude or be extended. Source

This whole case has to be weird considering she lives with her dad but is now going toe to toe with him for her freedom.

Coolio Shows Up Late for Court

Coolio made the big mistake of showing up to court late for his drug possession arraignment. The judge sternly warned him to not show up late again for any further hearings. He’s facing up to three years behind bars for the felony count of possession of cocaine and misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and battery.

Source

It’s bad enough that he got into this mess in the first place. But then to disrespect the hell out of the very courts that could possibly help him is just retarded.
