Whitney Doesn't Work Before Ten

Apparently Whitney doesn’t do mornings. She’s going to be appearing on “Good Morning America” in September to promote her new album. But instead of performing live for the show, the performance will be taped the day before.
According to a family friend, ”Whitney likes to warm up for 1 hour before going on, that means she would have to wake up at 4:30 be there by 6:00 and do a sound check, that’s not going to work for her.” Source
Um, I can feel the whole not being a morning person here but damn it this is her big comeback…drink some coffee and lock it up!

Whitney was Apprehensive About Working with Akon

Cousin Whit says that she wasn’t so sure about working with Akon when her mentor Clive Davis first suggested it. She said, “When Clive told me I would be working with Akon, I thought, ‘Hmm, interesting, um, all right’. I wanted the record like ‘My Love Is Your Love’ with an island feel. I wanted an island record because ‘My Love Is Your Love’ is so huge and it has its own fashion with Wyclef. I wanted that feeling, but I didn’t know who could do that. And Clive came and said, ‘Akon is the guy that we’re going to work with.’ And I was like, ‘OK, Akon. OK, I can deal with that.’ “
She adds, “I was asking him, ‘Did your mother name you Akon?’ And he said, ‘No, it means a convict.’ And I thought, ‘Oh, God. OK, all right, I can handle that.’ He’s a gentleman. He did his work very well. We did it very quickly, very diligently, and I’m very proud of that record. It’s a great record.” Source
Business is business so I guess she figured she might as well get some work done. But trust and believe she didn’t wear her good jewelry to the studio, nor did she let her purse out of her sight for one second.

Is Mariah Scared of Whitney?

Mariah Carey was supposed to release her new album the same day that Whitney Houston is, August 25st. However she’s pushed the album saying that it still needs work. Folks are thinking that she’s scared to put the album up against Whitney’s cus Whit will blow her out of the box. Source
I think it’s a smart move whatever the motive is. Everyone is curious to see if Whit still has it so they’ll buy the album out of curiosity alone. Since Mimi had her come back a few years ago I think she should definitely step back and let her fellow diva have some shine.

Whitney Houston is about to release her first album in seven years and the seventh album of her career. The above pic is one of the new promo pics she’s taken.

Whit and Bobbi Go at it in Restaurant

Word is that recently, while at dinner, Whitney Houston and daughter Bobbi Kristina got into it. The two shocked patrons of the ATL restaurant by screaming and cursing at each other as Whitney continually refilled her wine glass from a bottle on the table. Source
Well, Bobbi is of that age to try to curse yo mama out. I tried…once. Alls I’m gonna say is it changed my life…FOREVER. I’m surprised Bobbi still has lips on her face.

Whitney Counter Sues Stepmother

Whitney’s stepmother, Barbara Houston has been in a legal battle with Whit, saying she improperly kept proceeds from her dad’s $1 million insurance policy. Well now Whit is suing Barb for $1.6 million claiming that she owes her money for not making payments on the Fort Lee, N.J., condominium where she has lived since 1987.

Ah damn…this looks like it’s gonna get nasty.

Whitney Saved Bobby From Kidnappers

Supposedly, its coming out that back in the day Bobby’s addictions caused him to be held up for ransom by some unsavory characters. Who paid the $400K ransom…his then wife Whitney Houston.

In his autobiography, Preacher of the Streets, former gang member David Collins sais that Bobby owed dealers over $25K so members of a New York street gang known as the Preacher Crew kidnapped him.

They let him call Whitney and said they’d return him in tact if she paid $400K, way more than the debt he owed.

He writes, “They came to an agreement. She was personally going to bring $400,000 to get her man back. The next day, she did just that. She was wearing a wig.”

Neither of their reps will respond to the rumor. Source

I can believe it. Bobby was into the drugs hard so I can see him diggin himself this deep. Whitney is a ride or die bish so I can also see her paying whatever it takes to make sure her boo is safe and sound.

Brandy Talks About Her Bro and Whitney

Singer Brandy opens up about her little brother Ray J and his relationship with Whitney Houston. She insists that they’ve been nothing more than friends
She tells Rap-Up magazine, "Every time I ask Ray J about Whitney he always says that's just his friend. He's not dating her. And I don't think that he would lie to me.
"I said, 'Well Ray, that's not the way it looks. People think that you and Whitney are in a relationship.' He was like, 'Well, that's what they're gonna think, but I'm telling you the truth and I'm not dating Whitney. Whitney and I are just really good friends and that's it.' "When I ask Whitney, she says the same thing... I think he's telling the truth."

No More Sad Songs For Whitney

Whitney wants her new album to reflect the positive swing her life has taken. So she vows that no sad songs will appear on it.
Ne-Yo, who’s been working with Whitney on the new album says, “People are expecting something fantastic and I think they are going to get it. Whitney doesn’t want any sad songs on this record. She isn’t going for tear jerkers. She’s happy raising her children and wants her music to reflect that. It’s already sounding great.”

Whitney's Stepmother is Suing Her

Whitney’s stepmom, Barbara Houston is claiming that of the $1 million insurance policy that Whit received after her father's death, that some of it was to pay off the mortgage of his NJ condo and the rest to go to Barbara. She says that this was stipulated by John Houston’s will even though Whitney is the sole beneficiary.
Whitney, however, disputes all of her godmother’s claims. Source
I wonder if Auntie Babs was supposed to get that dough or if she’s just exuding her leechiness.

Whitney and Bobby Back Together?

Rumors are swirling that Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown are back together. The two have been spotted out in about in ATL having romantic dinners and whatnot. Whit’s reps say that they are not back together and are instead keeping it cordial for the sake of their daughter Bobbi Kristina. Source
I so need them to be together. This is for selfish reasons of course. I need “Being Bobby Brown” to return to TV with both Bobby and Whitney starring in it. If the planets align in my favor all will be right with the world.

David Foster Dishes on the Stars

Music mogul David Foster is penning a tell-all book where he talks about the crazy antics of some of the big name stars he’s worked with. He calls Paul McCartney "one of those musicians who needed to be reminded of his greatness. (McCartney was) a little like being on a bad date. Ten bad dates, maybe."
When talking about Whitney Houston he didn’t see a “hint” of drug use. Though he adds, "She and hubby Bobby Brown certainly seemed addicted to each other... When Bobby was gone, she'd begin to fade."
As far as Madonna goes he says that when he told her that he didn’t approve of the guy-on-guy kissing featured in her 1991 film Truth or Dare, and she quipped, "If that bothered you, you're too square for me. You represent everything I'm trying to change."But in a rare, and more somber moment, she confessed, "I just need a man. I need to be with a real man." Source
I hope that’s not the juiciest stuff he’s got…otherwise his book is gonna be a flop.

"Being Bobby Brown" is Back!!!

Our prayers have been answered! A second season of “Being Bobby Brown has been renewed for a new season. As much as I like to see folks get their acts together, this train wreck is possibly the most brilliant piece of television that I have ever had the privilege to see. No word on when this will air or if Whitney will be a part of it, but LORD I sure hope so. Source

When Cougars Attack!

Whitney and Ray-J are on again. They were out for a night of clubbin at Villa last week and an insider had this to say about their night:

Whitney Houston and Ray J’s romance looked like it was going strong at West Hollywood nightclub Villa on July 26. “They sat very close together. She only had eyes for him,” says an insider. “At one point, she placed her hand on his leg.” The insider adds that Whitney only drank water and looked very happy. A friend insists that while their relationship sometimes appears rocky, they never stray too far from each other. “They’re on and off, but it’s never really over between them,” the pal says. “They always pick up where they left off.” Whitney, 45, showed off an enormous diamond when she hugged Ray J, 27. Landon Brown: Sit Down!

Bobby Brown’s Son Landon claimes that he spent a passionate moment in the potty with Lindsay Lohan. He says,

"Me and Lindsay got really, really close. She followed me to the bathroom during a private party, and, well, we basically got together. I think she knew who I was when she first saw me. We were just staring at each other and she walked by. I walked into the bathroom and she followed me in….
"It didn't end badly, but it did end weird. I'm actually trying to get back in touch with her - really soon." Source

As raunch as I think Lindsay can be sometimes, something is telling me that Landon is making this whole thing up. What do you think?

Landon is talking to the National Enquirer about his relationship with ex-stepmom Whitney. He says,

“Whitney and I never really got along. She didn’t necessarily hate me, but she wouldn’t really speak to me either. In Whitney’s eyes, I was the stepchild-that’s how I was treated. I’d get harassed about cocaine rumors almost everyday at school.”
“Even if I feel asleep on the couch, Whitney would make my dad tell me to go sleep out in the studio house. There were two houses on the property. My dad would wake me up by tapping me on the shoulder and then he’d motion for me to go outside-she just didn’t want me staying in the main house.”
“It took a long time for me to get close to Krissy because no one would let me near her. Whitney’s assistants would say, ‘She needs space.’”
“She decided to turn me into one of her security personnel. I was a teenager but I was walking around dressed up in all black with a Security shirt and she’d have me work for her. I was just another one of her staff.” source

You’re the stepchild Landon…that’s how you should be treated! Just kidding. Naw, if he’s gonna be angry it should be at his father for allowing it. But I must ask, in all reality, is sleeping in the studio house really all that bad? I bet you its better than sleeping in an out house…or better yet, my house! SMH, shut up boy.

God Bless the Child

The National Enquirer is reporting that Bobbi Kristina, daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, tried to stab her mother than kill herself.
The Mag says:
Whitney Houston's 15 year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina tried to stab her mom during an argument - and then attempted to kill herself by slashing her wrists!
The shocking suicide attempt landed Bobbi Kristina in a psychiatric ward in Atlanta, sources said.
Ann Davis, a family member exclusively told The ENQUIRER, that a few days before Bobbi's 15th birthday party that Kristina "tried to stab Whitney" before turning the razor on herself.
Davis confided that part of Kristina's problem is that she doesn't want to live with Whitney." [Source]
I really hope this isn’t true. But if it is, it’s not surprising. Folks can’t expect to put their children through all those changes without some type of repercussions. I hope someone gets that girl some help. I think I’mma call up grandma Cissy. She’ll know what to do.

I Guess Crack Ain't Wack Afterall

Bobbaaaaay Brown, who’s been riding the Reality TV train for the past few years [he was on the Bravo hit “Being Bobby Brown”, the TV Land show “Gone Country”, and is currently involved in the MTV show “Rock the Cradle”] has written a tell all book about his life with Whitney. He says that it was her who was responsible for most of the couple’s drug use, namely cocaine and crack.
“I never used cocaine until after I met Whitney. Before then, I had experimented with other drugs, but marijuana was my drug of choice,” Brown writes in “Bobby Brown: The Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing But,” out next month. “At one point in my life, I used drugs uncontrollably. I was using everything I could get my hands on, from cocaine to heroin, weed and cooked cocaine.”
He adds that their marriage “was doomed from the very beginning. Within the first year we separated, with several more to follow,” Brown writes. “I think we got married for all the wrong reasons. Now, I realize Whitney had a different agenda than I did when we got married . . . I believe her agenda was to clean up her image, while mine was to be loved and have children.” Source
So basically he’s saying she was his bad influence and only married him to quiet the gay rumors. Well Whitney responded to these statements. Her rep said:
“Miss Houston is sad that Bobby feels the need to say such things but she chooses to take the high road and will not speak badly about the father of her child even if it’s to set the record straight.” (Source)

Above is an alleged pic of Bobby and Whitney’s fourteen year old daughter Bobbi Christina smoking…something. I’m going to say that based on the density of the smoke, the need to take a picture of the exhalation, and what appears to be a pipe like instrument in Bobbi’s lil friend’s hand that they are not smoking a cigarette…or tobacco of any kind.
I shall not judge…nor even get upset. I mean considering her family history we can be thankful that at least it isn’t crack.
