Whitney was Apprehensive About Working with Akon

Cousin Whit says that she wasn’t so sure about working with Akon when her mentor Clive Davis first suggested it. She said, “When Clive told me I would be working with Akon, I thought, ‘Hmm, interesting, um, all right’. I wanted the record like ‘My Love Is Your Love’ with an island feel. I wanted an island record because ‘My Love Is Your Love’ is so huge and it has its own fashion with Wyclef. I wanted that feeling, but I didn’t know who could do that. And Clive came and said, ‘Akon is the guy that we’re going to work with.’ And I was like, ‘OK, Akon. OK, I can deal with that.’ “
She adds, “I was asking him, ‘Did your mother name you Akon?’ And he said, ‘No, it means a convict.’ And I thought, ‘Oh, God. OK, all right, I can handle that.’ He’s a gentleman. He did his work very well. We did it very quickly, very diligently, and I’m very proud of that record. It’s a great record.” Source
Business is business so I guess she figured she might as well get some work done. But trust and believe she didn’t wear her good jewelry to the studio, nor did she let her purse out of her sight for one second.

Lip Syncing on MJ's New Tour?

Akon is flappin his gums about Wacko’s upcoming concert. He insists that MJ won’t be singing live.
He says, “Michael singing I’m not so sure about. He will perform but not sing.”However, he adds: “It’s going to be amazing, I can definitely tell you that. I’m going to have front row tickets. I will have the best tickets in the house and will be so close to the stage you will think that I am on it.” Source
Lol, I mean, I didn’t really expect him to be singing ANYTHING. He’s over 50, and a breath away from a dirt nap. It’s singing OR dancing. Not both. Actually, either could take him out. He should probably lay on a gurney outfitted with speakers that blast his hits to the audience.

Akon Keeps Spawning

Akon has fathered a baby in Uganda…allegedly. He supposedly got one of his fans pregnant and she’s blowing up his spot.
Susan Owori, the child’s mother and they younger sister of Kampala fashion designer Sylvie Owori, is known to be good friend with Akon. They’ve been club hopping all over the world with each other for years. She even broke up with a past boyfriend after Akon flied her to the states to chill with him. Now that she’s preggers, though she’s telling the world about it. Source
The world is over populated as it is without him skeetin’ everywhere. He’s got five kids already. WRAP IT UP! Er, I mean, children are a blessing.

Suge gets Knocked the Fu@k Out!

Suge Knight got beat up…again. He was at a private party thrown by 944 Magazine at the W Hotel in Scottsdale, when his entourage got into it with Akon’s entourage in VIP. The cops were called and got there just in time to see Rober Carnes Jr, Akon’s body guard, punch Suge in the head twice.
He was charged with felony aggravated assault, due to the "severity of the victim's injuries."
Suge had to be treated at the hospital for facial injuries, he supposedly has several face factures. Source
Damn Suge…talk about a rough year…I guess karma is bitch huh.

Nelly Forms Rap Group

Rapper Nelly has teamed up with fellow artists, Akon, T-Pain, and Pharrell Williams, for form some sort of rap super-group.
He told MTV.com, "Me, Akon, T-Pain and Pharrell are talking about doing a project. We got a host of things we're trying to do - possibly put together this new 2009 (Bell Biv DeVoe) type of thing."
Nelly isn't worried about conflicted schedules getting in the way of the collaboration either.
He adds, "I don't think you try to put things together with people you don't think you can accomplish (them) with. With 'Kon, with Pain and Pharrell, I know it's more about the music than anything. It's about leaving something. I think we're all OK as far as the money thing goes. I don't think anybody is hurting. You wanna do things you can be remembered by. Make a mark. I think that's something that's foremost on all our minds."
In contrast Pharrell wont say too much aobut the project. "Those are all my boys. I'm kinda like the only one that adheres to the oath of secrecy. I don't wanna break that," and refuses to reveal what direction the sound will take, adding, "Well, seeing as though I'm supposed to be upholding my end of the bargain of upholding my oath of secrecy, I'm not so sure of how to answer that question." Hmm, a ‘super-group’? I don’t know if I would use those words. They’re all fine in their own right but I (personally) wouldn’t call any of them the second coming. The only thing I can say about them is that they all have pretty distinct styles so it might be interesting to see what they come up with.

It was just announced that Akon will be going to trial for throwing a fan off the stage last year at a concert. But apparently this wasn’t an isolated event. The above video shows Akon pushing not one, but two women off the stage and into the crowd. Aye, aye, aye…when will he learn?

Akon's Headed to Trial

Akon will face trial for criminal charges against hi mfor throwing a fan off stage at a concert last summer. A young woman in the audience suffered a concussion when the boy being thrown landed on her. He pleaded not guilty last December to misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree harassment and is due back in court December of this year. Source
Lock him up and throw away the key. I could do without seeing him for a little while. And by ‘a little while’ I mean forever.

Shaggy with his fake accent and wack assness and Akon with his jaundice eyes and whiny voice...I...I...I'm spent. This song just took away my will to hear. I think I'll go remove my eardrums with a pick axe...they're no good to me anymore. Excuse me.

Akon and Nick Cannon to Host VH1 Documentary Series

VH1 will soon begin a new series entitled Rags to Riches where hosts Akon and Nick Cannon will take us back with them to their humble beginnings through their rise to the top. The show premiered last night at 10:00pm.
Hmm, I’m mildly intrigued. I’m not particularly fond of either fellow. But sometimes knowing what people had to go through to get where they are make you respect them. Granted I will probably NEVER EVER EVER NEVER EVER buy either of their albums. But MAYBE I’ll lay back on the ‘jaundice eye’ and ‘bird chest’ jokes.

Pimpin' All Over the World

Rachel Ritfeld, the British model who recently split with ‘singer’ Akon (whose real name is Aliaune Damala Bouga Time Puru Nacka Lu Lu Lu Badara Akon Thiam...dumb, just dumb) openind up about the possibility of becoming one of Akon’s wives:
“The reality check really came when Akon told me he had his fifth child with one of his wives. For the first few months I got completely freaked out because even though I knew he had other wives, I never really thought about him being with them because his main attention was always on me - or so I thought. He does not live with his wives but the birth of his latest child made everything become real and made me realize that I would always have to share the man I love while accepting his other relationships. At first I was very supportive but I began to question that if I was taking him into consideration and he was taking his family into consideration, who was taking me into consideration? The answer was ‘nobody’ so I decided I could no longer be apart of Akon’s world.”
“The one thing I wanted from Akon was for him to be monogamous to me but he could not grant me my wish. I thought I could handle the idea of becoming one of his wives in the beginning but who’s to say some other woman he meets won’t capture his heart? I soon realized that he was not the man for me. There were times when I wanted us to share quality time together like ordinary couples do, such as going out to dinner or cuddling up together in front of the TV but it was always impossible. I had to always wait until he had time out of his busy schedule or wait until I had a day-off so I could fly half way around the world to see him. The situation began to become a strain on my heart.”
The one thing she wanted was for him to be monogamous?! That would be like Star Jones saying “the one thing I want from Al is to be straight”. Cus it ain’t happenin! You either accept it or move on. It looks like she’s attempting to move on…well, except for the fact that she still has his song playing on her Myspace page. Aye pobrecita!!!
Sidebar: Whenever I see Akon I can’t help thinking about that scene from Coming to America when the chick pops up out of the water and says “The royal penis is clean” (the only clip I could find wasnt in English...but somehow that makes it funnier) cus I can just picture that’s what it’s like when he goes home to the mother land. I bet he has a wife for every step of his morning hygene ritual. He’s got the wife who scrubs him down, one to oirl him up and give him that lovely blackle shine we love so much, and one to powder his balls. Hmm, I don’t think Rachel would have fit in anyway, I mean what is she gonna do? Trim down the hair in his crease? Wife #4 got that job on lock. Yea they were doomed from the beginning.
