No Death Scenes for Madea Just Yet

Tyler Perry clears up the rumors that he’ll be killing off his alter ego, Madea.
"I have been saying for years that the moment people stop coming to see her she will die a quick death," he writes. "For years I've said this. Now, all of a sudden, it's everywhere that I'm killing her off. That's strange to me." Among Madea's fans, writes Perry is legend, Aretha Franklin. "I got a letter from The Queen of Soul herself saying (and this made me laugh so hard) 'There are two things that have brought you over. One is Jesus, and the other is 'Madea.' And you bet' not get rid of either one of them!' " Perry quotes Franklin as saying. After directing Why Did I Get Married Too, he says, "Madea will be taking a break for awhile. Not dead. Just a break (smile)." Source
He can’t kill her yet. I just started liking her.

Tyler Perry Getting Sued for Stealing Diary Movie

Tyler Perry is being sued over the film script for “Diary of a Mad Black Woman” in a copyright infringement case. The plaintiff, Donna West, contends that the script for the film was "copied largely from the plaintiff's copyrighted script."
Perry’s lawyer say that "the materials claimed to have been copied from the plaintiff's work are not protected by copyright law because they are ideas, facts, conventions or clichés of story-telling, script-writing or movie-making." They add, "defendants were not aware and had no reason to believe that their acts constituted an infringement of copyright" because the "defendants' motion picture was created independently of the plaintiff's allegedly copyrighted script."
The court papers also claim Ms. West has no recourse under the Copyright Act because of her "failure to register her work prior to the alleged infringement." Source
So they’re basically saying, “Yea we stole yo ish heifa! But since yo udidn’t handle yo bidness right you can’t sue us.”

New Trailer: Madea Goes to Jail

Above is the trailer for “Madea Goes to Jail”. I must admit that I am a Tyler Perry convert. I used to HAAAAATE his movies/plays. But after catching a marathon on Starz Black I realized that not only to I enjoy his movies, but I aspire to grow up to be JUST like Madea. Actually, I think I already am like Madea. Excuse me whilst I go find a child to beat. Anyway, enjoy.
