Dr. Donda West, Kanye West's Mother, died suddenly last night. Doctors have not released the cause of death but folks are speculating that it might be due to a recent cosmetic surgery she underwent. She was only 58-years-old.
It's no secret that Kanye and his mother were extremely close. She has always supported him in his career and has even likened him to Jesus. In a recent interview she said:
“Looking at Kanye has made me a more courageous individual, and I already saw myself as being courageous. I believe that Kanye has broken through and gone to levels and done things that I haven’t been able to reach yet. I have 28 years to his senior so I have a lot of experience. I’ve learned to speak my mind regardless of the consequences. I’ve learned a lot having raised Kanye and being his mother.”
A rep for Kanye West released the following statement: "The family respectfully asks for privacy during this time of grief."
Losing a parent, whom you're so close to, so suddenly is enough to mentally shatter a person. I hope that with the help of loved ones he can get through this.
Update: TMZ has learned that weeks before her tummy tuck and breast reduction a plastic surgeon refused to do the surgery due to a medical condition that could result in a heart attack.
