I Am Legend Prequel in the Works

According to reports there will be an “I Am Legend” prequel. Director Francis Lawrence confirmed the movie will happen and said of Will Smith reprising his role as Dr. Robert Neville, "Absolutely, we're actually trying to crack that. We're trying to figure out some ideas for it, but yes, it would be a prequel."
He believes that the experience of the first movie will definitely help this upcoming production. "The first time you got out there and shut down 6th Avenue, it's like, 'How are we going to do this day after day after day?' But by the end, it's just like you know how to do it," Lawrence explained."You got the PAs who know how to shut it down, how to let the traffic through in between set-ups and you just sort of get the routine down, so that's not the issue." I liked the movie well enough but I needed a little more background so I’m happy to see a prequel is in the works. Hopefully this time around I won’t spend most of the movie with my head buried in Brewer’s pit and holding my cheeks tight.
