Nas Deserves a Medal

Nas had this to say in response to rumors that he’s a bad husband:
“I heard that I was a cheater. It almost sounds like I was a bad husband. Not to say I was the greatest—I’m not perfect in anything I do—but I think I deserve a fucking trophy. If I do say so myself, without sounding too cocky, I gotta say I was a hell of a husband and a hell of a dad.”
Now you need to be a hell of a money maker so you can pay Kelis all that support the judge decided on. Good luck Father of the Year!

Kelis/Nas Post

So I jumped the gun thinking Kelis had her baby when Nas announced that his name was Knight. Poor cousin Kelis was in labor still. This lady was in the hospital pushing and sweating for 31 hours. WHAT!? Jeez, anywayz, Knight Jones was born at 9pm on Thursday night. He weighed in at 7lbs, 8oz.
Her rep said, “The beautiful baby boy and his mother are doing wonderful.” And according to TMZ, Nas showed up to the hospital but was kicked out by security because he was drunk. Source

In Other Nas/Kelis News…
Nas and Kelis have been in abitter divorce/custody battle and Kelis has mad out like a fat rat. She’ll be getting $55,000 a month, Nas will pay for Knight’s nurs, medical insurance, $35K to her lawyer, and all prental expenses.
Well, I guess that’s what happens when you sleep around on a determined chick like Kelis while she’s pregnant and not working. She wasn’t gonna have that. Sorry!

Kelis Misses Court to Give Birth

Kelis was reportedly in labor today instead of in court for the child support hearing with soon to be ex husband Nas. She told the judge she was too busy having a baby to be there. According to TMZ Nas wasn’t at her side either. Source
I’ve never had a baby but I’m quite sure that if I were pushing a melon out of my coochie annie I wouldn’t want someone I wasn’t too fond of standing next to me telling me to breathe.

Nas Shoots Back at Kelis' Claims

Nas says that Kelis is wrong to claim he has all this mony. She said that he got $11 million for his album deal but he disagrees.
He says, “I did not receive even half that amount”…claiming it’s more like $4 mil. Nas claims his income is declining, and he’s only pulling in $147,165 a month.
And he says that he spends $71,371.96 a month, which includes $10,000 a month in clothing/hair/toiletries/personal effects.
He’s agreed to pay $5k a month In child support as well as purchasing the stroller and other things that Kelis asked for. He, however, refuses to pay the $80K a month she’s asking for. Source
This is the nastiest divorce lately. It needs to stop.

Kelis Cries Broke

Kelis claims that she’s “run out of money” since Nas and her split in April. She says he hasn’t geven her any support or paid pre-natal expenses. She’s asked a judge to order him to pay spousal support, child support, all pregnancy-related expenses, one half of all medical expenses once their son is born, $3,500 for a baby nurse, and $20,000 for cribs, strollers and other baby supplies.
"My survival is based on [Nas'] will at this time," Kelis said, reports TMZ. "If he does not want to pay for an expense, it does not get paid." Source
Am I the only woman on earth whose mama told her to make sure she always had her own stash of money somewhere? Cus according to Patty Boo, “You never know when you’ll have to bounce.”

Nas was Abusive to Kelis?

Besides the cheating rumors, now allegations of abuse have come out against Nas. He supposedly once threw a glass of Patron in her face and lefter her in a London club. He recently posted pics on Twitter of himself and Maxwell partying it up in a hotel room surrounded by groupies. Source
Hmm, I’ve never seen this side of Nas. I feel like he tries to push this “I’m deep and enlightened” side. When in reality, he’s more Oochie Wally than God’s Son.

Kelis Airs out Nas Via Twitter

Kelis takes to the internet to address cheating husbands. Kelis, who is currently divorcing Nas, the father of her unborn child, talked to cheating husbands in a post on Twitter. Here’s some of the things she wrote:

“This lovely day I would like to touch on cheaters. ... Why be cowardly, why not go after what you really want? Do people know what they want? Probably not, which just goes into know and respecting one's self."

"Also we can discuss whores, I mean the nasty, sub-par tricks that participate in the cheating. Well let me say this, both parties are gross. And in reality they deserve each other."

"All the scumbag coward husbands and the less than impressive sluts unite! You can all go down in flames together! Hooray! Who's disgusted and bitter? LOL, not I said the cat! Wink wink."

"No seriously I have no [patience] for any of it, but the problem is women usually blame the women. I am here to say the husband is way more at fault. Now of course the woman/women who partake are stupid and pitiful. And honestly I will say it’s expected from younger girls 23 and under."

"But after that I do think as women we need to take more responsibility. Men are driven by something different than we are. And that's generally stupidity. Don't worry, we still love you guys. We just have to be smarter." Sounds

I always recommend taking the higher road …however, it feels so good to call folks on their nonsense, no?

Nas Says No to Spousal Support

Nas, who’s wife Kelis recently filed for divorce, is filing some legal papers of his own. He’s asking that the court deny his wife spousal support. He also wants her to pay her own legal fees.
The two are expecting their first child together and both are seeking joint custody. Source
Well I gues he figures that she’s got her own damn money. It’s just sad to see it go down like this. Who saw it coming? Cus I sure didn’t.

Nas and Kelis are Dunzo

Since news broke that hip-hop power couple, Nas and Kelis are divorcing, more details have come out.

XXL editor Elliot Wilson did an interview with Angela Yee and said:

"The final straw went down last Friday when they had a disagreement, and they haven't seen each other since to my knowledge."

On the women Nas was cheating on his pregnant wife with:

"She had found a certain young lady's photos and inappropriate text, correspondence between a certain young lady on the side ... I don't believe it's a famous woman. I believe it's a black chick from Virginia who may be a promoter of some sort, but definitely not a famous chick."

On the verbal abuse allegations:

"The biggest issue I heard is a lot of him just talking to her crazy...besides physicaly abusive they can be verbally abusive...A lot of the drama I'm hearing had to do with that aspect too."

On the breaking point:

"To find out your man's cheating on you when your seven months pregnant in a blatant way makes Kelis feel like this is the breaking point and she's calling the lawyer."

Wanna Name Nas and Kelis' Baby?

Nas and Kelis aren’t sure what to name their baby boy so they’re considering asking their fans for suggestions. He tells MTV.com, “Yeah, (we are deciding between) a few baby names. It’s kinda hard.

“I’ve been thinking about kinda putting something online: ‘Choose his name’. You get a couple stacks (financial reward) for that. We take care of you for that. You win something real. But we’re thinking now.” Source

Entrusting the name of your child to complete strangers, eh? Yea…that’s smart.

Nas Confirms Baby

Rumor were going around that Kelis and Nas are expecting a little one and on Sunday at the Grammys, he confirmed the rumor to MTV.
“Yeah, man, I find out what it’s gonna be next week, so I’m happy.” This will be Kelis’s first child. Nas already has a daughter from a previous relationship. “I got another one coming in ‘09, yeah! That’s what’s up!” MTV news
I feel like the baby wave that started a year or two ago hasn’t stopped rollin’.

50 Thinks Nas's Career is Dunzo

50 continues to attack people. This time it’s Nas who has fallen victim to one of his rants.
50 thinks that Nas is all washed up, and said as much in response to criticism in Nas’s song “Queens Get the Money.”
"Nas is cold as ice. Nas is the block of ice that sunk the Titanic... I didn't even hear his record. I didn't even hear what you talking about," he told XXL magazine."He's had some great moments and made good music in the past, but he no longer has the interest of the general public or myself," said the rapper. Source
I don’t care if Nas slung the mud first…Whatever he said, he was probably right.

Kelis is Preggers?

Rapper Nas and wife, singer Kelis, are reportedly expecting.
“It’s all they are talking about. She is carrying hip-hop royalty!” says an insider. “They are so excited.”
A rep for the singer had no comment. Source

Nas Supports Kelis Amid Sex Tape Rumors

Wendy Williams gave a blind item the other day about an R&B chick who is married to a rapper and who stars in a sex tape with another man. Wendy also claims to be in possession of the tape. Everyone has figured out that she’s talking about Nas and Kelis. But the couple seems to be unfazed by it all.
According to Miss Info:
Nas jumped on stage at the end of N.E.R.D.’s set, and performed songs off his untitled album, before going into his classics. Then he started “If I Ruled the World,” and said, “Give it up for my wife, Kelis!”
Kelis then sang Lauryn Hill’s hook and when the song was over, the couple shared a kiss and Nas went on to give his wife props, saying “I’m her biggest fan,” and even firing shots at her “imposters.” Source
If she did the tape before she was with Nas then who really cares? For all we know it’s not even her. Kudos to Nas for keeping up the united front.
