Plaxico Gets Cut

Plaxico has officially been released from the New York Giants. He’s facing gun charges stemming for man incident last November when he accidentally shot himself with an unlicensed gun…and incident which could land him in jail for 3 ½ years.

In addition to being released he still faces NFL sanctions for violating their personal conduct policy.

"I am an optimist, and I believe most situations can be worked out," general manager Jerry Reese told the AP in announcing the decision. "We hung in there as long as we could in hopes that there could be a resolution to this situation other than the decision we made today to release Plaxico."

"Plaxico's contribution to our championship season in 2007 can never be underestimated or undervalued," Coach Tom Coughlin said. "He displayed tremendous determination throughout that season. Having said that, I have always been as concerned about Plaxico as a man as I have been about him as a player, and my hope is that everything that has happened over the past several months represents a turning point.

"He is a young man with a family who has a whole lifetime ahead of him, and I personally wish him and his family well," he continued. Source

People don’t realize how every decision we make (especially dumb ass ones like carrying around an unlicensed gun to the club) can profoundly affect our lives.

Guns Seized from Plaxico's House

The police executed a search warrant on Giants’ WR Plaxico Burress’s house and seized various weapons. His attorney believes only one weapon was taken from the home.
"I believe it was registered, but we're looking into that now," his lawyer Benjamin Brafman said. "I'm not informed at this time that he is facing additional charges."
"It is not illegal in New Jersey to have a registered weapon in your home," Brafman said.
All of this on the heels of a gun possession charge after he Plaxico accidentally shot himself in the leg at a club. Source
If they’re not registered he’s obviously not smart enough to get rid of them. Dummy.

Plaxico is Getting Rid of His House

Plaxico’s saga is getting worse as the days pass. After being jailed for shooting himself in the leg with a gun he wasn’t licensed to carry he’s now selling his NJ home because he can’t pay the bills since he’s been suspended without pay. Source
So selfish and stupid. And no I’m not talking about Giants fans who need him to play (and we really do). I’m talking about the family that he needs to support. What are they going to do now?

I know I’m late with this one but it’s been a rough week. Anyway, Giant’s superstar Plaxico Burress was arraigned on Monday (December 1st) for two felony counts of criminal possession of a handgun after shooting himself in the leg at a club in NYC. He faces 3.5 to 15 years in prison if convicted. He’s already been suspended for the rest of the football season. Source
As a Giant’s fan and an advocate for common sense this is the dumbest think I’ve ever heard. Well, maybe not the dumbest but it’s high up there.

Plaxico Burress Suspended From One Game For Domestic Violence

Plaxico was suspended for fighting with his wife. On several occasions this summer police were called to the Burress household after altercations between Plaxico and his wife Tiffany. Tiffany claimed that on at least one occasion Plaxico grabbed her, and he claimed that she slapped him in the face. She also filed for a temporary restraining order twice and both orders were eventually dropped. Why was he suspended? Well, he neglected to inform the NFL of the domestic violence charges against him. Because he kept this info from them he was suspended for one game. Source
He looks like a beater. I mean, I’m not saying he is. I don’t know him. But some people just have that ‘look’. For the sake of them and their child I hope they all get some counseling. For my sake (Go Big Blue!) I’m gonna need Plaxico to lock it up. We need him for another Superbowl ring. Please and thank you.
