Jay-Z is Oprah's New Best Friend

Oprah is calling Jay-Z her ‘New Best Friend’ during an interview on Gayle King’s radio show. The two were pictured together at Marcy projects in Brooklyn recently.
"Oh, Jay-Z, my new best friend," she said.
"He was so charming and delightful, and he smelled so good," Winfrey said. "And it's that kind of thing where you hug a guy, and the scent is sort of buried in them. When we went to the second location, I could still smell him on me. It was like, 'Oh, this is wonderful.' "
She also said that she’s interviewed him for her O magazine but he won’t be appearing on her show.
"It was really a conversation, and at the end of the day, you feel like you get to know someone," she said. "I feel like I met a new friend. It was really great." Source
I know she doesn’t agree with his kind of music but I guess money loves money and those two are rollin’ in it.

Obamapolooza!!!

According to the National Enquirer, Michelle is being urged by advisers to distance herself from Lady O, because they don’t want the White House to appear too Hollywood.

Some feel the advisers, Valerie Jarrett and Desiree Rogers are jealous of the relationship.

“Michelle had promised Oprah all kinds of special behind-the-scenes access for her upcoming Oprah TV channel,” disclosed a pal of the media mogul.

“But now Michelle is backing out - telling Oprah she has to go through ‘the proper channels’ and speak to her advisers.”

“[Oprah] believes Michelle is being manipulated by jealous advisors - such as White House social secretary Desiree Rogers and another of Barack’s old Chicago friends, Valerie Jarrett, who moved to Washington, DC, to work in his administration,” said the friend of Oprah.

“Desiree, in particular, felt Michelle had been relying on Oprah too much in some aspects to do the job that she had been hired to do as social secretary.”

“Michelle had been calling Oprah for advice for a long time regarding her wardrobe, her makeup, her hair - and it’s continued since the inauguration.”

“The calls left Desiree steamed, because Michelle was side-stepping her on things she thought she was hired to do.”

“This past Valentine’s Day, for instance, Oprah even arranged for Michelle and Barack to celebrate at a fancy Chicago restaurant, where the executive chef had once been Oprah’s personal chef.”

“Desiree was angry, because behind the scenes she was working out a special dinner for the first couple in DC, which she had to embarrassingly cancel.”

“Michelle, who doesn’t want to lose Desiree, and is caught in the middle of this jealous feud, has been going to her more and more lately.”

“The first lady told Desiree she’ll now be in charge of her family’s TV spots, and Desiree is coming up with all kinds of excuses why Oprah can’t get special access anytime soon for her upcoming TV network.”

“Both [Valerie Jarrett and Desiree] want Oprah’s impact diminished over time.” Source

This sounds catty as hell, and I’d like to think that grown women wouldn’t sink to such lows. However, seeing what I’ve seen grown ass women do lately, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is true.

Oprah Don't Do Weave

Folks have been wondering about Oprah’s weave game lately and she’s had to set it straight that those lovely locks she’s been sporting are all hers.

On her Friday show she discussed what everyone’s been wondering.

“Am I wearing a weave? Everybody’s like, ‘Oprah, we love your weave.’ This is not a weave, this is my hair,” Winfrey announced, before putting up a photo of herself with pre-pressed and pre-curled hair. Source

This isn’t surprising in the least. Lady O has always had gorgeous naturally thick and healthy hear. I bet it smells like honey and gold doubloons.

Update 58: Chris Brown Arrested

Update 58:

According to Look Magazine, Chris Brown is considering going on Oprah, and Rihanna wants him to apologize to her in front of millions of viewers while he’s there.

Sources say “Rihanna has been talking to Oprah Winfrey on a regular basis since late February when Oprah begged her not to take Chris back. She’s been having second thoughts about them being back together.”

"Agreeing to go on Oprah’s show and tell the world how sorry he is will help make up her mind,” the insider went on to say. Source

He can apologize in front of the nation…he can do it in private…all that matters is that he’s truly sorry. Cus words don’t mean a damn thing.

J-Hud to Star in Oprah Biopic?

Producer John Dixon is hard at work on an unauthorized biopic about Oprah Winfrey and he has his sights set on Jennifer Hudson to play the lead role. The movie will cover O’s life from Mississippi to her current billionaire status.
“There is no way that the story of the most influential, successful and powerful woman in television should go untold. Oprah deserves and earned this type of ‘Big Screen’ honor and there should be no delay in making this first of its kind movie a reality. Oprah positively inspires countless women daily on her more than popular, Oprah Winfrey Show.”
“I feel that Hudson will no doubt rein in another Academy nomination for her portrayal of Oprah. I see many similarities in Winfrey and Hudson, not only do they look and act alike as in (The Color Purple and The Secret Life Of Bees) but they also seem to have the same positive vibe.”
“It’s just a simple success story on achieving the American Dream!” Source
I think Oprah should check out the project to make sure it’s legit. But overall it looks like a noble on taking.

Oprah Likes Rocks?

Oprah’s Ex, Randolph Cook, has written a book called “The Wizard of O” where he talks about Oprah’s drug use.
National Enquirer got a hold of the book and in it speaks of how “Oprah made a “rock” of cocaine and baking soda in the tube and heated it." He added that “[Oprah] then put the lit torch on the rock, inhaled and held the smoke in her lungs for a long time...We smoked at least a couple of times a week. Sometimes we would smoke up until her limo was waiting to take her to the studio to perform her show…” Oprah didn't deny the story either, back in '95 during one of her episodes she confessed, “In my 20’s, I’d done this drug and I know exactly what you are talking about...It’s my life’s great big secret. It was such a secret because–I realize (with) the public person I have become–if the story ever were revealed, the tabloids would exploit it and what a big issue it would be.” Source
Oh who cares? Celebs hit the crack pipe more than they wipe their own asses. Plus we know chubs here is definitely clean.

Oprah Opens Up about Being a Fatty

Oprah is speaking out about her 40 pound weight gain in just 3 years in hew new issue of O magazine. “I’m embarrassed … I can’t believe that after all these years, all the things I know how to do, I’m still talking about my weight. I look at my thinner self and think, ‘How did I let this happen again? I didn’t just fall of the wagon. I let the wagon fall on me,” she says of going from 160 to 200.
“I definitely wasn’t setting an example,” she says in her article. “I was talking the talk, but I wasn’t walking the walk.”
For someone who makes as much money as she does and has personal trainers, chefs and nutritionists at her beck and call there is no excuse to be tubby. Then again the billionaire also lets her feet look like this:

Tom Regrets Couch Jumping Incident

Tom Cruise admits that he now regrets the couch-jumping incident on Oprah. He also regrets criticizing Brooke Shields for taking medication for postpartum depression. He says, "There are things that I could have done better. I could have handled things better."However, the negative press he’s received about his relationship with Katie since then has only made them stronger. He said, "I was surprised by the criticism but it brought everyone close together. Katie's entire family and my family. Going through that stuff is not pleasant, and I think it hit an extreme, but Kate's a very sure and confident and strong woman. She gets it, you know." Source
He forgot to add that the Xenu tablets he’s been feeding Katie have helped to make her the most perfect wife ever.

Oprah is Sued for Defamation

Nomvuyo Mxamane, who was leading Oprah’s South African Leadership Academy for Girls, is suing Oprah for defamation.
The civil suit claims Winfrey "launched what amounted to a defamatory campaign" against Mzamane late last year by implying that Mzamane is "untrustworthy, failed the students of the academy, did not care about the students at the academy, knew of alleged physical and sexual abuse at the academy and participated in a cover-up of the alleged abuse." These comments were made after a dorm matron at the school was charged with assault and sexual abuse. Source
Oprah’s not having such a good year. Her magazine is struggling. Her mom’s in court over unpaid credit bills. Her school is slowly crumbling under bad management. She’s being sued. Wait, actually I take all that back. She’s worth almost $3 billion. Ain’t a damn thing rough for her.

Oprah's Mom Counter Sues Over $156K Bill

Oprah’s Mom Vernita Lee, is being sued by a high end boutique, Valentina Inc., for racking up a bill of $156,000. Well Vernita is countersuing them and claims that the store took advantage of her “lack of knowledge, ability, and/or capacity” when creating an account for her. She feels she shouldn’t have to pay the bill and adds that they should have never gave her any credit. She resolved a case in 2002 with them over a $175K bill. The resolution prevented the store from extending her any further credit. Source
Vernie’s thinking, “Them stupid folks KNOW I don’t pay my bills. It’s their bad for lettin’ me go up in there and buy errythang.”

Oprah's Coming to Prime Time

Oprah will be a guest star on an episode of “30 Rock” airing November 6th.
"Oprah Winfrey's presence on '30 Rock' makes this episode a television event," said Teri Weinberg, Executive Vice President, NBC Entertainment. "She is a true legend in her own time, and in this comedy's tradition, it provides the perfect showcase for stars of her renowned status. We are all thrilled."
"Oprah is very funny in the episode and we are beyond grateful to have her. Also, I would like to announce that we are officially best friends," Tina Fey, creator, executive producer and star of "30 Rock."

Lady O's Mom Skipped Out on the Bill

Oprah’s mama, Vernita Lee, is in hot water for neglecting to pay a bill that’s amassed to over $150K. She’s being sued by a high end boutique because she had an open ended charge account with them and has yet to pay for the clothes and services she’s acquired from the m. She was supposed to be paying a minimum of $2,000 a month but according to her attorney, Joseph Niebler, Sr., she just stopped making her monthly payments. They want full payment of the bill including interest and she has until September 19 to answer to the complaint. Source
Some people think that Oprah should help her mama out. I think she should keep her money. Nobody told that old lady to go around spending money like that.

Oprah Gets Sued

Oprah is getting sued. An “Oprah Winfrey Show” audience member is suing Harpo Studios after another guest allegedly caused her to fall down stairs. Orit Geenburg was in a waiting area with other audience members and when the group entered the studio and was told to “sit where they wanted” Orit was trampled and knocked down a flight of stairs by the over zealous audience members. Orit is suing the studio because she feels that they didn’t have the proper security measures in place. She’s asking for over $50K for the “severe and permanent injuries” she supposedly suffered. $50,000 is nothing to Oprah. She shits $50,000! But something tells me she’s not going to even entertain this demand.

The Oprah Store!

Oprah’s got her own show, her own magazine, her own network and now her own store. The Oprah Store opened up a few weeks ago in Chicago near Harpo Studios where Oprah shoots the show. In the store she sells many of her “favorite things”.

Steven Keith Platt, director of the Platt Retail Institute, suggests that this may only be the beginning for Winfrey’s plunge into retail. “If the clothing lines take off, look for more stores and a licensing deal with the likes of Target, JC Penney, etc.,” says Platt. “Oprah Winfrey is an American icon. If she puts her name on an apparel line, it will be huge- way beyond her own stores. If Martha Stewart can make it big at Kmart, [there] is no denying that our girl Oprah can.” SOURCE

Normally I don’t support the rich getting richer but Oprah is well known for all the charity she does so I say support O. Besides I’m sure her stuff is waaaaay better than Martha’s. I just hope she won’t be silly enough to get in bed with a store like K-Mart. She could only do worse by on with Bradlee’s, Caldor, or Woolworth. SMH
