Jimmy Choo to Design for H&M

Shoe designer, Jimmy Choo, will be the latest major designer to work on a collection for affordable cothing store H&M. Jimmy will design shoes and other accessories including men’s and women’s bags…not to mention clothing. The collection will be in stores this November. Source
Yay! My first chance to actually own some Jimmy Choo’s. Dang I hate being broke.

Lohan Blasts JT's Clothing Line

Lindsay Lohan took it upon herself to blast Justin Timberlake’s Willian Rast clothing line.
She tweeted:
“i can’t believe you are lowering yourselves to a MACY’S brand- i am speechless. Paris is chic not mid America. Gross.”
“i am sorry for the unnecessary comment-wasn’t meant to be a jab”

Prince sold out his two upcoming concerts in less than 8 minutes. Fans bought over 7,000 tickets for his gigs at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland in record time. He’s going to close the festival with two shows on July 18th. Source
Even though I’m a die hard VINTAGE Prince fan I do like some of the stuff from his latest album. I can see why tickets sold out so fast.

Because consumers aren’t relating to the label name "House of Deréon," Tina Knowles and Beyonce have decided to launch a new line called Sasha Fierce. They feel young girls can relate to Beyonce’s onstage alter ego. The collection is inspired by Beyonce’s Thierry Mugler costumes. Source

Rocawear to Include Shoes

Jay-Z is expanding his Rocawear empire by adding footwear to the line. The new sneaker is called the R+Evolution.

"The R+ sneaker from Shawn and Rocawear is set to debut in June and if you can't tell after looking at the picture, it resembles various other sneakers out there," said fashion blog ImFlash.com. "Don't you agree? I'm seeing a Supra with a Yeezy, throw Nike in there somewhere and then you have the R+." The branding is minimal and decidedly a little more grown up," writes HypeBeast

Kanye Begs Nike for Sportswear Line

Kanye is real desperate for Nike to give him the opportunity to designing a sportswear line for them.

“I’m going to keep coming up with ideas, but I do want to state in black and white that somebody needs to give me a f**king chance. Don’t just one-off me! If Nike gave me the opportunity to be in there creating - not that they don’t already have genius designers like Hiroshi (Fujiwara) - I’m not saying that I think I’m the best designer in the world, but what I’m saying is that I think I can become that.” Source

Pharrell Invests in Bionic Yarn

Mega producer Pharrell Williams has joined forces with Bionic Yarn, a NY Textile company, to develop environmentally sustainable fabrics.
He’s even started using the fabrics in his clothing lines. "I'm so interested with the technology behind this," he said. "I am also very concerned with the environment and want to make a conscious effort to make it better.""Our goal is to be the go-to fabric supplier," Pharrell said of the company. "We want to provide quality fabrics that also happen to be sustainable. We want to do everything from high end luggage, to high end denim, to university caps and gowns to Parks Department uniforms. It's a plus that the fabric brings environmentalism to a whole new level."

Christopher-Robin Does Everything Together

Both Rihanna and Chris Brown are getting into the fashion biz. Rihanna confirmed that her clothing line is already in the works.
She tells fashion publication WWD, “I can’t say when it will be released, but it’s definitely going to happen. I’m not one to rush into anything. I want to take my time.”
She’s already dabbled in fashion designing umbrellas for totes and a casual wear line for H+M’s Fashion against AIDS campaign. Source
Chris is working on a hat line and just released a line of underwear called Big Headed Boxers. According to reports:

Gwen Designs for W Hotels

Gwen Stefani is lending her design talents to the bar staff of the W Hotel. They’ll be wearing black jersey mini dresses with diagonal stitch details and an 80’s vibe. The wardrobe switch will happen in December.
“I wanted to design a super cute dress that I would be excited to have in my own closet and approached it in the same way I think about my clothing for a tour,” Stefani said.
“We’ve designed a sexy and comfortable outfit for these women to wear out on their own stage every night.”
Gweni isn’t the only designer to help out the W’s staff. Michael Kors has designed separates for the other employees. Source

One of my boys, Mike See, is doing some work with a women’s line of urban t’s called Dangerously Beautiful. There are currently ten styles available, they range in size from S-XL, and are being sold (in-store) in Miami and Vegas (soon to be NYC). Andre 300 Launches Line

Rapper/actor/sexyman Andre 3000 launched his menswear line ‘Benjamin Bixby’ at Barneys NY this past Friday (September 5, 2008).

The line includes 70 different pieces and is inspired by old college documentaries. Source I love it even though he’s probably the only person who won’t look like an ass in this stuff. He’s come a long way from his white wig/rocket launcher days. But it’s ok…this was the period right after dealing with Erykah Badu…we understand Dre…we understand.

Naomi Campbell reportedly has a new fashion line. She’s got a line with 284, a new line from San Paolo-based retailer named Daslu. Source
She should design cell phone covers instead. I’d be a lot more lucrative if you ask me.

Biel/Timberlake Post

TMZ has video of Jessica Biel walking across a parking lot looking kinda preggers but it could also be the wind blowing her dress up. In any event we love to speculate about possible weddings and chilluns.
If Jess and JT’s mom are still fighting a new baby might be just the trick to bring them together. Ah, only time will tell.

In Other JT News…
Justin has been shooting short films to promote his clothing line William Rast. In the vids JT plays a character William Rast who’s an outlaw hiding in the woods with his girlfriend. The two tape each other talking about love, their situation, and drop the name William Rast a few times.
Check out the vid below….I’ll give it interesting. We’ll see where it goes.

Snoop's New Clothing Line

Rapper Snoop Dogg is starting his own fashion line he’s calling Rich & Infamous.
“[It] represents a fraternity of sorts,” one of the brand’s creators, Robert Thorne, said in a statement. “From presidents to gangsters, who endure the burden of gaining wealth at any cost. Garnering equal parts admiration and disdain, these men savor the fruits and relish the spotlight.”
Snoop’s previous line Snoop Dogg Clothing must not have gone over too well cus he’s giving it another go. Source
Hmm, I don’t know about this. His fashion sense is sketchy at best.

Janet Shows Us her Panties

Miss Jackson if your nasty is ready to launch her new lingerie line called Pleasure Principle. The line will ‘support’ women sized 32A to 44G (got damn!). She says,
"I hate when you've had on a bra all day long and you just can't wait to take it off - every woman has experienced that. A lot of lingerie tends to leave those marks and be uncomfortable. This line is about detail, fit and comfort as well as beauty and making women feel sexy. In order for me to do something I have to be very passionate about it or I won't give it my all.
