Destiny's Child Back in '11

Kelly Rowland my have reason to rejoice. Though she’s been dropped from her label and experienced a rather dismal solo career she may be able to find the spotlight when Destiny’s Child reunites.
The group, who split in 2005, are looking to reunite in 2011 to fulfill one last record out of duty to their label…the same label that dropped Kelly.
A source tells says, "They still have another album they owe their label, Columbia Records, on their contract."

Always a back up singer…never the lead. Too bad, so sad.

Aubrey Wants to Kiss and Make Up

Aubrey O’Day is making it clear that she would never say no to a Danity Kane reunion.
"Danity Kane was a wonderful group, and like all things, nothing is forever. We had a great run and we were very successful," she said. "We may not have that answer for our fans, which is disappointing, but we did try, and that's more than a lot of people."
"I have so much respect for that situation, if there was ever interest in me coming back.” Source
She may be a nasticle but she’s NO fool. I’m not mad at her for keeping her options open.

Brit's Old Manager Doesn't Want to see a Comeback

Brit’s old manager, Johnny Wright says that he doesn’t want Brit to have a comeback and would rather her just chill out and be happy. He says:

"A comeback is not what I wish for Britney. What I wish for her is to settle down and find real happiness. All her essential relationships have been torn apart. She's been divorced twice, she doesn't have custody of her kids, she's being pushed back into being a money machine. I want her to be happy in her heart, then go back to the business because she wants to, not because people are convincing her she has to, or that it would be good therapy for her. It's too soon for her to be a part of a manufactured machine that is pushing her to have to be a success.
It was very telling when I found out Wade and Andre were no longer with the tour. They helped create the best tours we ever had with Britney. Wade is a really good influence and understands her. When I heard he was no longer involved, I knew there was a problem, and it is probably just the beginning of more problems to come.Britney has to rival Madonna out there, but Madonna really wants to do it. Seeing Britney do it by the numbers isn't a good sign. It means she might not want it as much as those around her do.In the beginning, in her mind, she could stop at any time. Now she's thinking, 'I've got 170 people on payroll, my dad quit his job, my mom relies totally on me and I can't take a break. I can't go back to my friends in Kentwood. I can't step back... that's tough for an adult, never mind a kid... When a parent becomes an employee of a child, they worry about getting fired, so they stop being parents in order not to get laid off.Her career can wait. Now it should be about spending time with her kids. That's where she'll bring herself back to herself. But she's gearing up for much more time away from them while on the road. Even if she's gone for a month, the growth of those boys during that period is significant. She won't see that and will really miss that. Those are moments she's not going to get back." Source
I’m gonna have to agree. This might be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. I know she’s been doing wel but that doesn’t mean she’s not fragile.

Michael Keith of 112 Goes Solo

Michael Keith, formally of the R&B group 112, has recently ventured out on his own and is talking about the group’s split with Essence.
ESSENCE.COM: So you're branching out on your own. You always have the grown and sexy voice. What can 112 fans expect from you as a solo artist?
MICHAEL KEITH: I've been really blessed to express my emotions and reach out to people through my music. Most people know that I'm the preacher and the one who gives that soulful, heart-wrenching singing and that's what I'm bringing to this album. I did a lot of soul-searching and dealt with a lot of things I've experienced throughout the years so people will get a lot of my soul and my personality. When it comes to music, I'm all over the place. I have different ways of looking at music so I'm proud of the direction that this album has taken.
ESSENCE.COM: Let me find out you're quite the ladies man! Well, you have a song entitled "Father," which addressed the absence of your dad. As a single father to 10-year-old and 4-year-old boys, have you made an attempt to reconcile with your dad not only for your sake, but your sons'?
KEITH: Well, I didn't grow up with my father and only met him a couple of years ago. My mother is really the one responsible for our reconciliation. She tried for years to get me to go meet him and I refused. My attitude was like, he hasn't been in my life all this time, so why should he be now? When I finally decided to go meet him, it was very emotional. He's a barber and I went to his shop and I told myself I was going to give him the business, but I looked at this man and said to myself, This is my pops. The Bible says to honor your mother and father regardless of whether they were in your life or not. Any harsh feelings I had I pushed them to the back burner. I'm not going to lie-I had to wipe a couple of tears away, but we were able to sit down with each other as grown men not as father and mp;nbsp;son and talk about life, and love and things my father knew about me and likewise. So we now have an understanding and working relationship. I didn't know how much I needed my father until he was in my life.
ESSENCE.COM: There are discrepancies about whether 112 disbanded or if y'all are still together and that Q and Slim have reportedly been doing concerts as 112, the duo. Is there drama between you and the fellas?
KEITH: It is true that Q and Slim were going under the name 112 and performing. I wasn't aware of that until fans were hitting me up on my MySpace angry that i wasn't showing up. I want to apologize to the fans. Honestly, I haven't spoken to the guys in two years. I'm sure everyone has their reasons why they left the group. Personally, the bond we formed wasn't there anymore. I still love the guys, and I don't blame them for the direction they've chosen to take or the outside influences coming in that affected the group, because that's what happened. We were so used to doing everything as a unit, even finishing each other's sentences but when that stopped we had to say, "Well, maybe we should step back from the whole situation." It became so chaotic that we went our separate ways. I still love the guys and I wish the best for them. As far as any drama, there is none.
ESSENCE.COM: What about the group's relationship with Diddy?
KEITH: We really were a family, we argued, we laughed with each other, we cried together when Big passed. Our relationship with Diddy was family-oriented. We didn't necessarily have a falling out but we had a disagreement, and leaving to go with Def Jam was a decision we made because there were things that financially we couldn't be a part of anymore under Bad Boy. This is a music business, but as young men new in the biz, we were quick to do anything to get signed and we signed really bad contracts. It's like your classic TLC situation [where we didn't know much about the business] and we helped found Bad Boy along with Faith, Big, Craig Mack and Total. We were all starting out and we wanted in by any means necessary. Of course we had our representative telling us we can work out a better situation, but we were inexperienced and wanted to be in the music industry no matter what. Honestly, I'd do it all the same again because if I changed it, who knows what the outcome would be. I know now looking back it made me a savvy business man. I want to make sure that every new artist coming in, regardless of what someone tells you or promises you, to always make sure your business is right, because at the end of the day, their business is going to be right, so make sure yours is too.

Spike Wants Wes to Play the Godfather

Spike Lee is working on a biopic about James Brown and he says he wants Wesley Snipes to play the lead part.
Apparently the two were supposed to work together for Spikes latest movie “Miracle at St. Anna”, but Wes’s legal issues forbade him from leaving the country so Spike had to recast the role.
Lee explains, "He was cast in the role that Derek Luke plays, but he wasn't allowed out of the country due to his tax situation. He couldn't get a visa, and making St. Anna would've required him to spend extensive time in Italy."
But he assures, "He's a phenomenal actor, and I truly feel that he'll regain that power he once had. If my James Brown picture ever gets made, he'll be playing James - and he'd kill in that, without a doubt. He still has chops." Source
I’d pay just to watch Uncle Wes do a split and not throw out his back.

New Music From M.I.A.

M.I.A., nee Mathangi Arulpragasam, has come out of retirement to record a new album. She told Entertainment Weekly, "I stopped touring... and I didn't want to make music again. I was quite happy to just leave it all behind. I was happy with what I had achieved.
"Now, with the success of Paper Planes, there's pull for me to make another record. Even my mum believes in me more. It's a nice encouragement. But I was planning my life as a fishing woman on the outskirts of Cambodia. That's a joke." Source
This makes me very happy. When I heard that she was retiring, I held vigil for a week. Then I had to come out from under my desk cus the cleaning lady told me she was sick of stealing sandwiches from the cafeteria for me.

DC to Reunite?

Folks are saying that Destiny’s Child is gonna give it another go.
