Paula Unsure of Idol Return

Paula isn’t completely sure she’ll be back for another season of Idol.
She said on David Letterman, "I never said [I wasn’t returning]. I just said that I’m not sure. It’s called, um, 'negotiating.’” Dave told her, "One time, I tried that, I was coming up to the end of a contract, and I said, 'I don’t know, maybe I won’t come back,' and they said, 'Fine because we’ve got another guy ready to go.’” She felt the need to once again let us know that there’s no beef between her and Kara."Kara’s great. I don’t understand why they do this to women; they love to pit women against each other. Maybe because it’s sexier, I don’t know. Maybe mud wrestling, the whole thing." Source
Paula ain’t goin nowhere. She’s making too much money on this show. How else is she gonna pay bills? Her cheerleader fashion line?

Paula Admits she Loved the Pills

Paula Abdul admitted in a recent interview with Ladies’ Home Journal, that she was addicted to pain killers.

She was involved in a car accident in ’92 and a year later in a plane crash, after which she had to have 15 spinal surgeries.

As a result she was dependant on pain meds. "I could have killed myself.”

"Withdrawal – it's the worst thing. I was freezing cold, then sweating hot, then chattering and in so much pain. It was excruciating."
This is interesting because she recently did a television interview denying the abuse of any drugs, prescription or otherwise.
In the piece she’s asked, “So let me just ask you the question straight up. Absolutely crystal clear you have not abused prescription drugs?”

“Never. I’ve never been drunk in my life. I don’t like it. It’s not my thing. Spending money on clothes and shoes that’s another thing. No, no, no, no, no. Will not take those drugs. And you can check my medical records there is nothing like that. I was never on Oxycontin or Vicadin or anything like that. I was on nerve medicine and anti-inflammatories,” said Paula.

It’s OK Paula, we knew you was lyin’ anyway. It’s obvious that there are lingering effects of her pill popping past.

Paula is Off the Sauce

Paula Abdul is pain free now. She was in an accident years ago and was on all types of meds and treatments but nothing worked. But she went to a new doc and everything is easy breezy.
She tells OK! magazine, "For the first time in 12 years, I am pain free. I had my 15th surgery to correct my back and neck problems last August and it worked. Finally! I had a new doctor who tried a new procedure and because of that I'm a new woman. I may have to have one more surgery in the spring but after all this, I can handle it."
She adds, "Not only am I pain free, but I am pain-medication free. I weaned myself off everything I'd been taking." Source
Good for her. Unfortunately she probably wont be as kooky as she’s been for so long, which was entertaining. But I’m all for sobriety.

Paula Abdul is Responsible for the Stardom of Bey and Rih-Rih

Paula Abdul would like to take credit for inspiring stars like Rihanna and Beyonce.
She says, "My videos stand the test of time. They are like the almanac for every performer. Even Rhianna has come up to me and said 'I hope you don't mind.' And Beyonce. You can see the influence of what I've done. It's really fun to see that I've left a mark. It was my idea to create an animated character. It takes a lot of focus, a lot time, and a lot of money." I hear ya Paula. Every time I watch the video for “Rush” I cry uncontrollably. You’re an American treasure.

The Paula Show?

Paula Abdul wants to be a talk show host. She’s reportedly in negotiations to not only get more money for her Idol gig, but to also get permission to work on other projects.
“And if she does get her contract demands, Paula will attempt to negotiate a clause that states she can have other projects, including a talk show, and will juggle both.
“Paula is unpredictable and not afraid to speak her mind — but she also leads from the heart and really connects with people,” continued the source. “Studio execs feel those are the kind of personal attributes that would make her perfect for a daytime talk show.” Source
This is so horribly awesome that if she pulls it off I may have to watch it. I’m sure it’ll be less like Oprah and more like Richard Bey. Don’t know who Richard Bey is? Well you should.

Paula's Selling her LA Home

Paula Abdul has put her LA home on the market after a fan committed suicide outside the front gates.
Us Weekly confirmed the move.
"Paula simply feels she has outgrown her house, and given the recent public disclosure of her address, it seemed time that she move into a gated community," a rep for the celeb told Us Weekly.
The fan, Paula Goodspeed overdosed in her car outside Abdul’s home last month. Source
I don’t blame her. I can’t imagine living in a place that something so horrific happened.

Paula Abdul Fan Kills Herself Outside Star's Home

Paula Goodspeed, a Paula Abdul fan was found dead in her car outside of Abdul’s home, the victim of an apparent suicide.
The license plate on her car reads “ABL LV” and she had a picture of Abdul hanging from the rear view mirror. Source
Thoughts and prayers to her family…she was obviously a very troubled woman. It must also be hard for Paula to have something so tragic associated with her.

Catfight at Idol on the Horizon?

Paula Abdul is happy that another woman will be joining her as a judge for American Idol. Producer and Songwriter Kara DioGuardi will be joining the eighth season of Idol.
“It’s about time another girl joined,” Abdul told PEOPLE Monday at the U.S. Open opening night celebration in Flushing, N.Y. “More girl power. She’s going to be a little more different and more from the industry standpoint.” Paula is, however, a little concerned. “I am concerned about the audience and their acceptance … time will tell,” both Abdul and DioGuardi say there are no hard feelings.
“Anybody with the right brain would say something like that,” DioGuardi told reporters yesterday. But will adding another female judge take the spotlight away from Abdul? Source
Who is this heifer again? The only way the public will accept her and enjoy her presence is if she’s as loopy as Paula.

Paula + Halftime = The Death of Lo's Soul

Word on the street is that every one's favorite loony bin (right under Britney Spears) may be performing at the Super Bowl this year. She’s currently rehearsing a duet with Randy Jackson for the first single from his Music Club Vol. 1. The two would be joining Tom Petty who’s headlining the halftime show. SOURCE
Now I loves me some Paula. I really do. She’s a crazy old bat but I like her. I mean Rush, Rush brings me to tears every time I see the video. And Vibeology, well, its probably one of the most underrated songs of her career. But one thing I love more than Paula Abdul is the sacred game of football. And although Paula’s my home girl she IS NOT Superbowl caliber. Actually, neither is Tom Petty. (Notice how I didn’t mention Randy? Yea that’s to emphasize his lack of relevance.) I can’t let this travesty occur but I fear all we can do at this point is pray. (Lo lifts her eyes to the heavens and utters, “Jesus be with them for they know not what they do.”)
